A story may begin with a rainbow and a pot of gold, ours began with a vegetable crate, full of nature’s treasures.

More than 50 years ago, Ferdinando Zerbinati founded a small produce company with a revolutionary idea: fresh minestrone soup packaged in tubs. Today, Zerbinati has more than 180 products and is a leading company that continues to propose new recipes that appeal to everyone’s taste.

Today, alongside Giorgio Zerbinati and Maria Luisa, are Simone Zerbinati, General Manager, and siblings Gianluca and Valentina.

The year it all began. Ferdinando Zerbinati follows his passion and writes the first chapter of our story, founding a small business specialising in the processing of fresh vegetables.

A love for good things runs in the family! Giorgio Zerbinati teams up with his father and sales expand to supermarkets with the production of spinach, salads and minestrone soups in bags, with all the vegetables pre-cut, washed and dried.

Time passes, the Zerbinati family grows, and so does the company. The third generation joins Zerbinati: Gianluca, Simone, and Valentina Zerbinati become part of the team!

We continue to think big. The historic plant is being expanded and a brand new product is in the works: soups, creamy soups and side dishes made with fresh vegetables!!

A new milestone for Zerbinati: the inauguration of a plant in Casale Monferrato where RTE bagged salads will be produced, drawing inspiration, as always, from the values of tradition and innovation.

It is a year of innovation. Zerbinati enters the vegetable burger market with a newly created, dedicated line. But that’s not all: in the world of Gorgonzola cheese recipes, we bring to the market Polenta Pronta (ready-made polenta), an all-time first!

Quality, customer focus, experience and authenticity have enabled Zerbinati to establish itself in the market with a turnover of 48 million euros. Our delicious products reach everyone, not only on the table: the brand is making itself known to the general public with its first advertising campaign on TV!

50 years of history and solid expertise! Zerbinati continues to be a brand that carries the name and values of a family and confirms its position as a leading company in the sector.

Over the span of a few years, Zerbinati has expanded its range to more than 180 products, while maintaining its obsessive attention to every stage of production: from the field to the table. All this has been possible thanks to the Zerbinati family, who have been involved in the company since 1970, sharing all their experience in the field and putting their name on every single product prepared by the company: indeed, besides the «Zerbinati» brand name, every package bears the name of a family. Today, alongside Giorgio Zerbinati and his wife Maria Luisa, we find Simone Zerbinati, general manager, together with his siblings, Gianluca and Valentina.

High quality vegetables and respect for the environment are always a priority with Zerbinati. To ensure that only the best products reach your table, 99% of our ingredients are sourced in Italy and come from different regions of the peninsula depending on the season.
Every single ingredient, stage and process is monitored and carried out pursuant to our commitment to the protection of the environment and the well-being of the community. We use certified suppliers who operate in full compliance with ethical farming practices, such as the proper management of water, soil and waste.

Our supply chain

Our secret is to never lose sight of quality, from the field to the table. How do we do this? By paying the utmost attention to every step: first of all, our agronomists plan and monitor the growth stages of the vegetables. We harvest salads and leafy vegetables when they are perfectly ripe, we immediately wash, disinfect and package them in bags, and make sure they reach the main Italian supermarkets in less than 24 hours. That’s why when they arrive on your table, they are still fresh and ready for dressing or cooking.

How do we make our soups, fresh purées and burgers? We clean, wash and dice fresh vegetables, such as carrots, courgettes and potatoes. Once chopped, we cook them together with the finest legumes and the richest grains, using Italian extra virgin olive oil. Our added value? Our products are always prepared without preservatives, colourings, flavourings or glutamate, using ingredients you are familiar with, the ones you would use in your own home.
Quality raw materials, a love of tradition, simplicity in preparation and respect for the environment are standard fare in the Zerbinati kitchen.

We manage all our plants through a sustainable use of water resources, raw materials, materials and energy. Moreover, we are committed to proper waste management and deal with non-recyclable waste by compacting it: this means fewer vehicles to dispose of it and less fuel consumption.

The Zerbinati company was founded in Monferrato, and since the very start we have always sought to play an active role in the land that has seen us grow. Through the years, we have tried to do everything possible to promote projects in support of significant realities for the territory and, above all, for its people.

For years, we have been supporters of Ouedmont Food Bank, a non-profit organisation that since 1993 has provided support to the community by collecting and distributing agricultural, food industry and  large-scale retail trade products. Other organisations we support on a regular basis include the Civil Protection Agency, the Italian Red Cross Association and Anffas.

We also pay special attention to children and have been by their side for years in every possible way and with various activities. We support Dynamo Camp, a recreational therapy camp that hosts children with various medical conditions, and we support the Uspidalet Foundation in raising funds for the development of projects relating to the three public hospitals in Alessandria. Finally, with the “Agriturist” project for schools, promoted by Confagricoltura Alessandria, we introduce students to the world of good nutrition through visits, educational activities and materials in support of the initiative.

In 2020, Zerbinati strengthened its ties with sport. Because sport and good nutrition share many values, contributing to personal well-being, and therefore should be supported and promoted to the fullest. Simone Zerbinati became President of Monferrato Basket, the basketball team of the City of Casale Monferrato, and a new sporting and social project was launched to bring to the fore the values that have always characterised Monferrato and the Zerbinati philosophy: healthy eating, quality and respect for all the resources the land offers every day.

We have always taken care of our products by selecting the finest raw materials in order to create healthy and genuine products. Since 2007, our commitment and professionalism have been recognised with the IFS certification, which attests to our compliance with strict health and hygiene standards; the BRC (British Retail Council) certification, which certifies company strategies in the agri-food sector and establishes common principles for accessing large-scale distribution; and the BIO certification, which guarantees that products are made from raw materials grown through organic farming methods.
